Everything you need to know about our bespoke glass staircase range...
Glass balustrades are transparent or semi transparent (when using grey or bronze tint) barriers commonly used in architecture, particularly in staircases, balconies, terraces, and around swimming pools. Here are some key features and benefits of glass balustrades.
Aesthetic Appeal. Glass balustrades provide a sleek and modern look, allowing unobstructed views of the surrounding area. They can enhance the visual appeal of any space and complement various architectural styles.
Light and Space. Glass balustrades create a sense of openness and spaciousness by allowing natural light to flow through and visually expanding the area. This can be particularly beneficial in small or confined spaces.
Safety. Despite their transparent appearance, glass balustrades are engineered to be highly durable and meet safety standards. Tempered or laminated glass is commonly used, which is stronger and more resistant to impacts than regular glass. In case of breakage, tempered glass shatters into small, blunt fragments, reducing the risk of injury. laminated glass is used when necessary.
Low Maintenance. Glass balustrades are easy to clean and maintain. They can be wiped down with any standard glass cleaner to keep them looking clear and pristine.
Versatility. Glass balustrades are versatile and can be customised to suit various design preferences and architectural requirements. They can be frameless or framed, and the glass panels can be tinted, frosted, or etched for added privacy or decorative purposes.
Weather Resistance. Glass balustrades are resistant to corrosion and degradation caused by exposure to the elements, making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.
Sound Insulation. Depending on the thickness and type of glass used, glass balustrades can provide some level of sound insulation, reducing noise transmission between different areas of a building.
Glass balustrades offer a combination of aesthetic appeal, safety, durability, and functionality, making them a popular choice in modern architecture and interior design.
